Department of Tourism was started in the year 2006. Course offered by the department is BBA Tourism. The nature of course is professional. The objective of the department is to provide employable youth to industrial needs in Travel, Tourism and Hotel Industry. 8 batches of students have been passing out from the department so far. Two students from the department bagged gold medals from Pondicherry University during the academic year 2009 and 2014. The meritorious students have been working with Tourism, Travel and Hotel industry. There are 5 faculty members have been working in the Department. Tourism board of studies, Pondicherry University has decided to implement Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) in BBA Tourism as per the UGC guidelines from 2017 academic year onwards.
